    To give you an idea of what the COCB is offering in 2023 here’s a proposed program of activities for the first half of the year. As you can see not all actual dates have been set.

    You can email Howard on sunshinecoast@cocb.org.au to receive email updates, or check back for info on when and where activities will be held.

    All events are free and booked via Humantix, which is easy to use and very supportive of the not for profit sector, so don’t be put off by online bookings.

  • Sunshine Coast Workshop Series: Creating Coastal Connections

    With the Hinterland Connections Governance Workshop booked out within days of release, the Sunshine Coast Coalition of Community Boards is pleased to announce their next workshop, Strengthening Coastal Connections.

    To be held on Thursday April 9 at the Maroochydore Community Centre, this workshop is designed for boards of small and local community organisations.  Book fast as places are limited.  RSVP Kay Maclean: kaymcl9@msn.com

    Creative Commons for Not for Profit Organisations

    As part of the 2014 Changemakers Festival, the Coalition of Community Boards were lucky to be team up with some brilliant minds in creativity and education to start a discussion on Creative Commons for Not for Profit organisations.

    Our guest presenters were Elliot Bledsoe, freelance digital producer and advocate for creative commons in Australia, and Junita Lyons, Adult Educator and creative commons contributor for the adult literacy sector, kindly donated their time to share their knowledge with us.  (more…)

    As part of the Changemakers festival, the Coalition of Community Boards are pleased to be hosting an online event that will explore potential of Creative Commons—the international open licensing rights management legal and technical infrastructure that maximizes digital creativity, sharing, and innovation—for the Not for Profit, community organising and social enterprise sectors.   • FREE KNIT Program Overview – Logan Area

    A Special Opportunity for Community Organisations to Enhance the Services of their Organisation and the Skills and Capacity of their Staff

    Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association (LECNA), in collaboration with David Rolls, B.Ed. (Soc. Wk.), has achieved a great deal of success over the past eight years by utilising the KNIT (Knowledge, Networking, Intervention and Training) program to support families and individuals.  The program’s effectiveness has been recognised by four times being refunded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services as part of the Family Support Program.  There is considerable quantitative and qualitative data to justify this support from the Department, not least of which are the numerous stories that people who have participated in the programme  tell of improvements in quality of life for themselves and their families.   • Coalition of Community Boards at the CD Conference 2013

    The Coalition of Community Boards is excited to be presenting an engaging seminar as part of the Community Development QLD Conference 2013.

    Comprised of 3 sessions we shall explore collaboration, relationship building for fundraising, and seek to identify a key policy area to influence in 2014. (more…)

  • Community Development Conference 2013 Program Released

    The bi-annual Community Development Conference is this year being held in Deception Bay and the program is chocka block with  4 stellar events run over 3 days.
