FREE KNIT Program Overview – Logan Area

A Special Opportunity for Community Organisations to Enhance the Services of their Organisation and the Skills and Capacity of their Staff

Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association (LECNA), in collaboration with David Rolls, B.Ed. (Soc. Wk.), has achieved a great deal of success over the past eight years by utilising the KNIT (Knowledge, Networking, Intervention and Training) program to support families and individuals.  The program’s effectiveness has been recognised by four times being refunded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services as part of the Family Support Program.  There is considerable quantitative and qualitative data to justify this support from the Department, not least of which are the numerous stories that people who have participated in the programme  tell of improvements in quality of life for themselves and their families.

Leaders and workers in the community service sector are invited to attend a free information afternoon on Thursday 27th March 2014 from 12.30 to 3.30 p.m. at Springwood Community Centre, Cnr. Cinderella Avenue and Barbarella Drive, Springwood, Logan City, Qld.  The program includes a sharing of an overview of the theory and practice of the KNIT program and details of a forthcoming opportunity for workers to access professional development that will enable to utilise that theory and experience in their own organisations.
